Action Tutoring is an education charity supporting pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve a meaningful level of academic attainment. We empower volunteers to tutor these young people, at primary and secondary level, and help them overcome the challenges they are facing to reach their potential.

Currently in the UK today, only 1 in 3 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve the grades needed to progress in education, employment or training. This means the circumstances we are born in to affect our chances to succeed in life. This is unjust and unacceptable, and we are working to change it.
We are getting involved with #givingtuesday through our social media campaign – #7days7reasonstogive. We will be showing the impact of giving time, or money, on the young people we support and also celebrate our incredible volunteers and staff.

Giving can be in terms of time, for instance volunteering with us, or donating to us if you are unable to volunteer. The campaign will run from 22nd to 28th of November 2017.

We will be saying a big thank you to all of our current volunteers for all the time they have already given, and continue to give, to support disadvantaged pupils.

Since Action Tutoring began just over five years ago, it has supported over 5,000 young people and we are working harder to support more and more across the country.
