Small jewellery business Chalso champions children’s charity

Giving Tuesday 2018

A local jewellery maker from Glasgow has become a champion for charity thanks to Giving Tuesday.

Established by Sarah Malcolm, Chalso Jewellery is a small online business based out of her conservatory and home workshop.

And for the second year running, Sarah will be donating 10% of November’s sales on Giving Tuesday, as well as all profits from the sale of her “Kids are people too” badges for children’s charity Clyde Cash for Kids.

The funds will go towards the ‘1000 Faces’ campaign which has so far collectively raised over £11,000 to benefit the lives of children and young people across Glasgow and West Scotland by alleviating poverty, supporting disability and improving quality of life.

Speaking about the campaign, Sarah said: “For the last few years I’ve donated a percentage of November’s sales on #GivingTuesday, donating over £400 to Clyde Cash for Kids so far.

“It has been great being involved in Giving Tuesday because the campaign provides an opportunity to raise the profile of your charity work and your chosen charity. By spreading the #GivingTuesday message, everyone benefits.”

Many small businesses already champion a charity close to their hearts. Some donate a percentage of sales, while others donate profits from a dedicated charity item.
