Giving Tuesday 2018

A community arts studio that supports people with disabilities is throwing open its doors for a morning of crafts on Giving Tuesday 2018.

Loudwater Studio in Ludlow will be asking people to make items to sell on during a Needle Craft and Natter session to raise funds for the facility.

They are also asking people to dress creatively for the day and bring in unused craft items to be used by other groups at the studio, which is part of Vision Homes Association, a charity that supports people with visual impairments, and other complex disabilities to lead full and active lives.

All proceeds will be ploughed back into running costs and new equipment for the studio and will help keep groups running at affordable prices.

Speaking about why they’ve joined the campaign as a charity partner, Nicola Hook said:

“There’s no better feeling for us than watching someone leave the studio with a smile on their face, as they take home that piece of art, or handmade gift they’ve created here. The Giving Tuesday campaign is an opportunity for us to reach out to our local community and beyond and help them see the important work that we do on a daily basis. We hope that this will inspire them to support with donations but also give their time when possible.”

She said the day will give crafters out there the opportunity to help the charity raise funds by making items in the studio that can then be sold on at their upcoming Tinsel Market Stalls in December.

The crafting morning will be on November 27th 2018 between 10.30 and 12.30 at Loudwater Studio at 16A Burway Trading Estate, Bromfield Road, Ludlow.
