50,000 hours of giving back to local communities

A global health and hygiene brand is challenging employees all around the world to complete a total of 50,000 volunteering hours by December 3rd .

RB (Reckitt Benckiser), who host their own volunteering initiative ‘Give Time’, are using Giving Tuesday as a platform to inspire their employees to share their volunteering stories and help beat the target.

By joining Giving Tuesday as a corporate partner, they hope to spread the message about what RB employees have achieved through their programme and encourage them to continue to give time and skills to causes that matter.

On the day, the team in the UK plan to host a range of activities including a Christmas Shoebox packing day at their HQ in Slough, a volunteering session at the local Foodbank, and a visit to a local charity that supports the elderly.

Thousands of miles away, in Austria, RB’s volunteers will be supporting a local community centre by hosting painting sessions and cooking lunch for 200 people.

The team will also donate products to women’s shelters and children’s homes, and also help out at a local soup kitchen.

Further afield, in the USA, all RB offices will be participating in events including a visit to their local NGO partner.

Volunteering to empower local communities

Launched in 2017, RB’s Give Time scheme helped to contribute over 20,000 hours of volunteering time to local causes – the following year, they contributed 32,000 hours.

The aim of the programme is to give employees the freedom to make a positive impact around the world and shine a light on the great contribution RB is already making through giving time.
