On Friday, the Giving Tuesday team at CAF welcomed over 80 charities and businesses to our host NatWest’s offices to celebrate the launch of Giving Tuesday 2018!
It was a fascinating morning filled with insightful presentations on how some of our key partners have used Giving Tuesday in their organisations. The event kicked off with keynote speeches from CAF’s chief executive Sir John Low, and RBS’ chief operating officer Mark Bailie. We have been really grateful or RBS’ support of the campaign since the beginning, and were delighted they could host this event.
Our Giving Tuesday partners Dogs Trust, ASOS Foundation, Marie Curie and RBS discussed how they used the day to shout about their corporate social responsibility programmes, promote their latest campaign or try out something they’ve never done before.
We then broke out into a networking session, which was a great opportunity for Giving Tuesday partners to share how they have made the most of the campaign in the past, and what their plans for this year are. Many of the partners spoke about feeling inspired by the speakers and returned to their organisations with new ideas of how to get involved with Giving Tuesday this year.
With just under five months to go until Giving Tuesday 2018, we used the launch to unveil our brand new logo and strapline. Our key messaging of the campaign this year is all about promoting the variety of different ways people can do good, whether that’s by donating, volunteering, campaigning or sharing support for a good cause.
We also want to highlight the global aspect of the campaign. CAF are proud to lead Giving Tuesday in the UK, joining a global movement of over 40 countries who take part in the campaign. With this in mind, we launched our strapline:
One day to make a world of difference
With our new logo, we wanted to adopt an image which would be more in line with the global Giving Tuesday branding. We have therefore gone back to using the heart shaped logo:
This year Giving Tuesday falls on the 27th of November, and to help you get your ideas flowing and to finalise a plan for the big day, we’ve developed a series of new toolkits for corporates and charities on how your organisation can make the most of Giving Tuesday. We’d love to hear what you have planned for the big day, so please get in touch with the Giving Tuesday team at CAF at campaigns@cafonline.org.
