GoodGym is a community of runners who get fit by doing good.
They combine exercise with helping out local charities, community groups and socially isolated older people. They got involved in #GivingTuesday in 2015 for the first time and set up a very special #GivingTuesday run.
Setting off from the iconic Somerset House, 65 runners (more than have ever taken part in a single GoodGym run) ran through the centre of London to The Passage in Victoria, a centre for homeless and vulnerable people, where they handed over 70 coats and jackets to help some of London’s most vulnerable people to keep warm over winter.
The team at GoodGym said:
“The #GivingTuesday run was a landmark event for us – our biggest run yet. We were blown away with the generosity of London’s runners and proud to be part of this international day of action. We hope this highlights how easy it is to do something positive with GoodGym and look forward to seeing even more people as we spread across the UK.”
