Giving Tuesday is an excellent way for companies to give back to the communities in which they operate and use their products as a force for good.
To inspire some unique ways for companies to give back and support communities through the difficult winter ahead, we’re shining a light on In Kind Direct, a UK charity that offers a simple solution to product giving.
In Kind Direct is a charity that believes everyone deserves access to life’s essentials and that no usable product should go to waste. They redistribute consumer products donated by companies to thousands of charitable organisations – from charities to community centres, food projects and schools – across the UK.
In return for the product donation, they provide an Impact report to highlight the breath and human impact of the donations on local people in local communities.
Right now, more and more people are having to make the tough decision between heating, eating and keeping clean. By donating essential products, you can have an enormous impact on people who are struggling, improving confidence, self-esteem and mental wellbeing.
TOTM supporting In Kind Direct on Giving Tuesday
TOTM regularly support In Kind Direct through their customer ‘Gift a Pack of Pads’ scheme, but in 2021 on Giving Tuesday they launched an additional initiative where they matched an order at random every day throughout December and donated the equivalent in period pads to In Kind Direct. This giveback campaign provided additional support to period dignity projects throughout the Christmas season when demand for products is higher.
TOTM plan to launch the same initiative again this year on Giving Tuesday to increase their donations to support communities at this critical time. TOTM will also be using this time to share stories from the charities directly benefitting from these donations to encourage even more customer donations!
“TOTM exists to drive positive change. We’re committed to supporting organisations and initiatives that share our desire to have a positive impact on the world. We’re proud to partner with In Kind Direct as part of our vision to improve access to period products for those who need them most. In Kind Direct’s team are a pleasure to work with. They make it easy to reach period dignity projects across the UK and provide us with ongoing feedback of the real impact that TOTM donations are making.”
