RBS are a founding partner of #GivingTuesday and have been a part of the campaign since 2014.
They were the first bank to join the #GivingTuesday movement and they continued to show their support by taking part again last year.
To celebrate the day in 2015, RBS donated an incredible £500,000 to charities across the UK. The money went to charities regularly supported by RBS employees through the bank’s payroll giving scheme, and staff were encouraged to either sign up to the payroll giving scheme or make a donation on #GivingTuesday
As well as donating to the charities supported by employees, RBS also donated £100,000 to their official charity partner Sport Relief.
And it wasn’t just the staff that got involved. RBS made sure that customers using their ATM machines knew it was #GivingTuesday, with more than £20,000 donated to charity on the day!
