Morrisons were the first UK supermarket to sign up as a #GivingTuesday partner, and it’s a campaign they’re proud to be involved in.

Through their national ‘Raise a Smile’ partnership Morrisons have supported the health and social care charity Sue Ryder for almost two years, raising an incredible £4 million!

Morrisons saw #GivingTuesday as a fantastic opportunity to continue their fundraising for this incredible cause, and thousands of colleagues across their stores, manufacturing and distribution sites and head office dusted off their Santa hats and dug out their Christmas jumpers for a ‘Dress Festive for Sue Ryder’ day, which raised an incredible £100,000!

#GivingTuesday also marked the launch of a brand new product that Morrisons were selling to raise money for Sue Ryder, with Christmas gifts on sale at checkouts allowing customers to donate £5 towards Sue Ryder’s community nurses or family bereavement support.

Morrisons are very proud of their partnership with Sue Ryder and #GivingTuesday gave them the opportunity to highlight the charity’s incredible work. It was also a chance for customers and colleagues to come together to celebrate giving for a day, and we look forward to seeing what they’ve got in store for 2016!
