Giving Tuesday has been taking place in the UK since 2014, following growing interest in the phenomenal success of the original movement across the Atlantic. Over the years, a multitude of charities and other organisations have taken the Giving Tuesday message and turned it into an opportunity to raise money, awareness and more for their causes. This means that the inspiration for your very own campaign is already out there, waiting to inform your next (or first) move.

From larger charities to small, there’s something for everyone to do, and looking into what has worked well for others in the past could create some last-minute actions that translate into real-world change.
Create some catchy content
Capturing people’s attention is a real challenge in the digital age – with so many people trying to retain the attention of their audience and draw people in, it can be a real challenge, for smaller charities especially. It’s worthwhile to think about what messages you want to put out there, and how this might reach your audience and positively influence them to get involved.
Write down some catchy slogans, hashtags etc, and consult your team – find that perfect message that people can immediately connect with, and tells them exactly what you are asking of them, whether that be volunteering their time, donating money and everything in between. Or, adapt your existing content
Want to get involved but strapped for time? If you don’t have capacity to create brand new content, take a look at what content you have planned around Giving Tuesday and see if you can work it into your message.
For example, if you’re launching a festive campaign, or are targeting your messages towards a certain demographic, this could be the perfect opportunity to quickly and easily spread the Giving Tuesday word and achieve your goals at the same time. Then, your supporters will know exactly what, and why, you are asking for their generosity on Giving Tuesday.
